Meet Our Community Schools Counselor


Hello my name is Celina Cervantes Alcaraz. I was born in Michoacán, Mexico, and moved to California in 2003. I graduated from Fresno State with my Bachelor’s in 2017 and from CSU Bakersfield with my Master’s in 2022. I enjoy outdoor activities and spending time iwth my family. I am passionated about helping others and giving back.

WHAT IS COMMUNITY SCHOOLS?
A community school is a “whole child” school support strategy.  By working along the side of schools, families, and community we are able to support the student’s needs.  This allows the child to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

HOW WE SUPPORT STUDENTS

  • Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
  • Small groups/individual counseling and or classroom lessons.
  • Attendance Support: Goal setting and tracking.
  • School-wide lunch activities.
  • Building connections between home, school and the community.

HOW WE SUPPORT FAMILIES

  • Connect families to resources/agencies in our District and community.
  • Host family engagement events and workshops
  • Support families with professional career services (resume building, job search, etc)
  • Collaborate with staff to support student success.
